After winning the award last year, EastWest contends again for Best Musical Instrument Software
Hollywood, CA (July 22, 2019) - EastWest/Quantum Leap Hollywood Pop Brasshas secured a nomination for the 35th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards in the category of Outstanding Technical Achievement/Best Musical Instrument Software.
The NAMM TEC Awards are bestowed annually in celebration of the pro audio community by recognizing the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind today’s sound recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and other media.
“Hollywood Pop Brass was created for one simple reason - there's just nothing else out there on the market that instantaneously gives you that fiery, punchy pop brass sound that made songs like Uptown Funk such mega hits,” says EastWest producer Doug Rogers. “Having won the TEC Award 2019 for Hollywood Choirs, we’re thrilled to again have a nominee in the race for the award in 2020.”
The nomination announcement follows a two-month call for entries of standout technical and creative products and projects that have made a significant impact on modern sound and music. A panel of respected industry voters from pro audio publications as well as members of professional music, technical and creative organizations, along with select NAMM members carefully evaluated each entry before selecting Hollywood Pop Brass for the nomination.
Recorded by multiple Grammy award-winning engineer Moogie Canazio (Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughan, Sergio Mendes), Hollywood Pop Brass features a 4-piece brass ensemble for all main articulations that includes 2 trumpets, a trombone, a saxophone and a 5-piece ensemble for all phrases and licks that includes 2 trumpets, a trombone and 2 saxophones. It’s an extremely versatile library with something for everyone – whether one wants to build deep and detailed compositions with one of the world’s top horn sections or just “plug and play” using licks and phrases that will bring that “it” factor to their next track. Hollywood Pop Brass is now available for purchase and as a free addition to ComposerCloud, the #1 subscription service for music creators.
The NAMM TEC Awards will be held in conjunction with The NAMM Show on Saturday, January 18 in Anaheim, California. The event begins with a reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m. Event tickets will be available for purchase in late September by visiting www.tecawards.org.
