"Mobius Filter is a fascinating new effects plug-in that builds on the principle of the Shepard Tone, an audio illusion that you've probably heard in science fiction movie soundtracks at least once. A Shepard Tone is a sound that gives the impression of rising in pitch forever, no matter how long it plays ... overtones at the high end of audible frequencies gradually fade away and are replaced by overtones at low frequencies, so the sound rises and rises (or falls and falls) without ever going away. Mobius Filter does the same thing with filter frequencies-it's a filter plug-in whose frequency gives the illusion of steadily rising or falling forever."
