AES in L.A.!
The 137th AES was the busiest in the recent years. Well, hosting the show in Los Angeles may have had something to do with that! Music Marcom clients iZotope and Hal Leonard had a great show with a lot of highlights. Our focus for the show was on PR - we scheduled a full slate of media meetings and brought publishers, editors, writers, and bloggers to meet our clients and get the scoop on new products and initiatives.
The iZotope booth was abuzz with demos of RX 4 and we were able to get the press a sneak preview of Ozone 6, to be released in November. iZotope also hosted a reception at a cool loft space near the convention center on Saturday night. Guests were treated to food, drink, and a full reveal of Ozone 6 - along with a few games of pool and stimulating conversation with iZotope's finest!
Star power at the Hal Leonard booth produced crowds throughout the show. Book signings by Alan Parsons, Bruce Swedien, Dave Pensado, Herb Trawick, and a visit from Mixerman gave visitors a chance for some personal interaction with these noted authors. A book release party for Parson's Art & Science of Sound Recording was held just down the road from AES at USC's Thorton School of Music. A new content initiative with online tutorial company Groove3 was announced and looks towards great new products in the coming months. Stay tuned for more!
Music Marcom client EASTWEST, while not exhibiting on the show floor, was busy celebrating the November cover of Mix Magazine and the release of Hollywood Orchestra, a multi-product series that was years in the making and stakes claim as the pinnacle of virtual orchestras for film scoring. And celebrate they did - with a party at EASTWEST Studios in true Hollywood style - live music, drinks, actors in full costume, trapeze artists (yes, you read that right!) and a line down the block to get in the door!
While fun it was, we made the most of the opportunities AES has to offer, including coverage for our clients in every edition of the AES Daily news. See the complete coverage here. From here, we'll dig in and maximize these opportunities for exposure - only to do it again at NAMM!
